Awesome free website templates for authors and writers

If you’re a writer, or an author, you might’ve thought about making your own website at some point. If you don’t have the website yet — this needs to change now. I bet you’ve already tried using online platforms like Medium or WordPress, but why not have a go at your own website, which you can grow from the ground up? As long as it’s yours, you will have full control over every section, every pixel of your website. And instead of outsourcing this job to some developer (especially if you’re just starting out), why not use one of suggested free website templates?
DevBlog
While it’s called DevBlog, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you can use it only if you’re a developer. This template is essentially a blog template, which is made very clean and simple. It rids you of all the clutter there can be, and leaves only the most important thing — your posts, so you can concentrate on writing.
It’s light, it’s responsive — why not try it out?
JohnDoe
Telling the world about yourself is almost as important as actually creating content. So, along with the blog, why not use a one-page portfolio as well?
It’s built with HTML5 and CSS3, with mobiles in mind, so it’s fully responsive. Supports Google Fonts and aims to provide smooth user experience.
Stanley
If you don’t like fancy designs with a lot of animations and other stuff — why not try something simple? Stanley does the job.
It’s responsive, very lightweight and built on all the modern technologies. And it also has built-in blog template.
Abstract
Abstract is a more fancy-looking version of DevBlog. It renders posts in popular tiles format, but aside from that — it’s pretty much just a blog. So if you favor this format — give it a go.
It’s responsive (what’s not nowadays?), and has quite a lot of formatting built-in in css, like marked text, code snippets, headings, etc.
Preface
This is another portfolio website template. It has a sleek design, using flat ui colors and has everything you need to show off your work, skills and experience.
Have a nice day!
